Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia; January 2014. In January 2014 there were severe floods in the city of Manado on the Indonesian island of North Sulawesi: the water level reached over 2 meters in parts of the city, especially near Tondano River.
The river turned into a health hazard since all sort of objects, rubbish, plastic, sewage and, in fact, entire houses ended up in there and in the sea afterwards which created a very alarming situation. © Chiara Marina Grioni
